Getting Started

This section will guide you through the steps to access the Multigateway service features. It assumes you have followed the simple instructions in Installing the Software.

1. Start the Nxt Client
2. Open Nxt Wallet with Nxt Services Plugin installed

1. Start the Nxt Client

In Windows: Double click on “run.bat” in your Nxt Client folder, or click in “Start Nxt Client” in your Start Menu if you used the installer.
In Mac / Unix: Open a terminal window and change directory to the folder of your Nxt Client. For example, cd/Applications/nxt. If you are not sure of the path to your Nxt folder, you can type ‘cd’ in the terminal and drag and drop the Nxt folder into the terminal window. Then start the Nxt Client by entering ./run.sh

Before going to the next step and opening the Nxt Wallet, you should wait until Nxt has started successfully. You will see that notification appear in the Java window when Nxt is initialized.

If you need more assistance to start Nxt, please take a look at Getting Started with Nxt in the Nxt Wiki.

2. Open Nxt Wallet

Access the Nxt Wallet login page using the shortcut or in .

Enter the passphrase for your Nxt account.

Once you have logged in, you’ll see the Nxt Services Plugin added a new “Nxt Services” entry in the left sidebar.

Click on “Nxt Services” to see the link to the Multigateway page.

Please note that you cannot use the Multigateway features until the Nxt blockchain is up to date. If this is your first time running Nxt, the blockchain download might take a while depending on your internet connection. The Nxt Wallet will display the download status and notify you when the Nxt blockchain is fully downloaded.

Inside of the Nxt Services > Multigateway page, you can switch coins using the selector in the upper right, and see your current coin Asset Balance in the blue box. If it’s your first time using Nxt and you need a few NXT in order to get started, take a look at the Start Tour button in the corner!
